CAF Women’s CL: Hasaacas Ladies to Mamelodi Sundowns in finals

Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the maiden edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.

Hasaacas Ladies beat ASFAR from Morocco 2-1 in the first semifinals game before Mamelodi Sundowns struggled to beat Malabo Kings 5-4 on penalties in the second semifinals game to qualify after the regulation time plus extra time ended goalless.

The game comes off on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the 30 June Stadium.

Qualifying to the finals is a dream come true for us as team. We feel great to be able to represent our nation at the biggest inter club event like this”-Janet who was crowned Woman of the match stated.

When we won the WAFU Zone B qualifiers in Abidjan, we set a target for ourselves. We wanted to qualify for the finals and win the ultimate. We are a step closer in achieving this dream. I am expecting a tough game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.”-she revealed.

Head coach of WAFU Zone B qualifiers champions, Yusif Basigi admits that the team needs a little more work going to the finals.

Our finishing is one of the areas that we will work on going to the finals. Patience in defense is another because we need to organize our defense well and be more impact and sharp in our midfield.

We must be quick in our attack as well. We will rehearse and remind the girls the very last task ahead of us”-he added.
